Identify the equipment loads
The outdoor unit needs an appropriate circuit. An all-electric air handler with resistance backup can have additional requirements. Equipment labels and manufacturer instructions establish the loads being proposed.
Look beyond empty breaker spaces
Available spaces do not establish how much load the service can support. The electrical review considers the existing service and other loads in the home.
Put any changes in the quote
Ask whether the price includes a new circuit, disconnect, panel work or other electrical changes. If more evaluation is needed, the quote should explain that before you agree to the project.
Send a photo with the cover closed
A photo of the outside of the panel and its label can help start the review. Leave covers in place. Submit equipment and panel photos.
Common questions
Can I start with photos?
Yes. Send photos of the indoor and outdoor equipment or upload an existing quote. UniColorado will review the request and follow up.
