Keeping the furnace
The existing furnace must have a suitable blower and be compatible with the indoor coil and controls. Its age alone does not answer those questions. The contractor needs to inspect the equipment.
Replacing both together
A new furnace may be included because the old one needs replacement or does not suit the proposed combination. Ask why replacement is recommended and have both model numbers included on the quote.
Removing the gas furnace
Going all electric means replacing the gas furnace with an air handler rather than simply disconnecting gas from the old cabinet. Backup heat, electrical supply and duct connections need to be designed with it.
Start with the equipment label
A readable label and a photo showing the entire furnace and surrounding ductwork give us a useful starting point. Submit your photos.
Common questions
Can I start with photos?
Yes. Send photos of the indoor and outdoor equipment or upload an existing quote. UniColorado will review the request and follow up.
